Our friend Lydia at http://threelittleprincesses.blogspot.com/ tagged Carly and Emily. So, we're supposed to share 10 things you might not know about the girls.
Carly-
1. Has a smile and a laugh that can light up the world.
2. LOVES to dance and sing.
3. Loves to read books. She memorizes them and will read them to herself when you've tired of the same book over and over.
4. Would drink a gallon of chocolate milk per day if we let her.
5. Has just recently achieved "potty-trained" status. :-)
6. Has an imagination that doesn't stop.
7. Is very caring and will make sure you're okay if you're hurt or not feeling well.
8. Always looks out for her little sis; and is usually ready and waiting when Em needs a toy.
9. Is afraid of the dark.
10. Has recently shown a very laid back outlook on life, like "Don't worry about it, Mom", or "It's okay, we can fix it." (By the way, tape can fix anything in her mind!)
Emily-
1. Has a smile and a laugh that can light up the world. (It must run in the family.)
2. Likes to chew on her toes.
3. Loves to eat any orange vegetable; green ones, not so much.
4. Lights up like a kid at Christmas when she sees a bottle or her blankie.
5. Has just learned to waive Good Bye.
6. Finds her big sis and the dog very fascinating.
7. Laughs non-stop when you tickle her belly.
8. Doesn't like to wear socks or shoes.
9. Brings home more artwork from daycare than Carly.
10. We often call her Em, Emma Lemma Bear, Emma Lou, or Emma Lemma Lou.

Emily and the Johnny Jumper
Another hand-me-down from Jack, Kevin, and Carter was the Johnny Jumper. Carly loved it when she was little. Emily loves it too.
A Big Thanks
We want to give a big shout out to thank Aunt Mindy, Uncle Shawn, and Jack, Kevin, and Carter for the big box of goodies!!
Carly loves her new butterfly wings!
Her two new bunnies found a friend - Boo Boo Bunny; They all had a tea party using their three new chairs! Carly found that her step stool made a perfect table. Coincidentally, we happened to have two extra step stools handy that we bought to take to church.
Thanks Jack, Kevin, and Carter for sharing some of your old Lego's! They were a big hit with both girls!

Emily's Sad Goodbye
Today, Emily cried for the first time when I left her at daycare. She was her usual happy self until I waived goodbye and blew her a kiss. Then she started to wail at the top of her lungs. I'm sure she was fine seconds after I left the room. It was harder for me, no doubt. But, the separation anxieties are staring...a sad first for the baby book.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
Every year on the Saturday before Palm Sunday, the kids at our church enjoy Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Jeff and Carly went and had a blast while Mom stayed home with a sick Emily.
I'm not sure that Carly ever ate breakfast, but she sure didn't come home hungry. The cookie decorating table was a big hit.

Morning Snuggles
Okay, it's been almost a month since I've posted any picts, hence all of the catch up posts today. (The month was a little crazy and got away from me.) Anyway, for some reason we all ended up in bed together for some morning snuggles several times over the past month. Here are a few picts.
Emily is 6 Months!
Emily is now 6 months old! She's 27" long and weighs 17 lbs, 12 oz. (She has officially outgrown her infant car seat!) She's really a happy baby and rarely fusses unless she's hungry or teething. She currently has two teeth. She LOVES to eat and is very interested in any food we are eating around her. She sleeps through the night about 60% of the time. (When she gets up, it's to eat.) She's "talking" a lot. She rolls around quite a bit and reaches for everything, especially hair. She's getting better at sitting up but still tips over pretty easily. She is still very fascinated by both her big sister and Murphy. She's really become very active and is a lot of fun. She smiles and laughs often. Her laugh is such a delight to hear!
When I told Carly that I'd be taking Em to the Dr. for her 6 month appt, Carly said, "No Mommy, Emily will cry when she gets her shots and she's too little to get candy!" She's always so protective of her sister.
Riding around in the backpack is always fun because she is up high and can see everything that's going on. (And, there's easy access to hair to pull, especially with Mom's long hair!)
Going on a trip?
While I'm sitting here catching up on posts, Jeff just reminded me what a character Carly can be. He was unpacking his suitcase, as he returned yesterday from Atlanta on business. Carly asked him if he was going on a trip. He said no, he was unpacking, but that Monday he'd be going to Kansas City. Her reply: "Oh, Kansas City? I don't go there very often."
"Dragging Ride"
We used to have to race or give piggyback rides as incentive to go get ready for bed.
One night Carly refused to race or get on for a piggyback ride. To get her to go brush her teeth, we talked her into sitting on Dad's foot and hanging on while he walked. (Could this be why Jeff's knee is bothering him?) For the longest time afterward, Carly kept asking for a Dragon Ride. We finally figured out she was asking for a Dragging Ride.
More snow....
Cinderella Goes to the Ball
Carly received her special dancing dress from Auntie Susan & Auntie Sheryl. She LOVES it!
(It has it's own music box inside, and plays Swan Lake while she dances.) Thank you Auntie Susan & Auntie Sheryl! Donned with her Fire Chief hat that she made at school and her purple "Cinderella" Slippers (which we MUST be careful with every time they go on/off because they are "glass and will break"), she made a beautiful Cinderella princess. This happened to be taken the week Jeff was in Orlando on business. She couldn't wait for Daddy to come home so "she'd have a Prince to dance with". (Mommy was an okay stand in, but not a very good Prince.)
Hangin' Out
Emily loves to play with hair. You can see she has a mitt full above. She still needs to learn how to play without pulling. So far, Carly has been lucky in that Mom has been able to intervene before any large chunks have been pulled out. It's only a matter of time.....
