Annual Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch yesterday. The girls enjoyed picking out their pumpkins, riding in the wagon,
and driving the tractor (though it's not quite like Grandpa's).
The big cornucopia is always a great photo op:

And, the pumpkin house is always a favorite:

Jeff gave the girls a lesson on how corn grows. This field was planted with Indian Corn.
And what would a trip to the Patch be without caramel apples, apple turnovers, and cinnamon ice cream?
The sprinkles from Carly's apple left their mark.
When did my little pumpkin turn into such a big girl?

Tiny Dancer

Carly was absolutely thrilled to start dance classes this past week. (Okay, I called too late, and we missed the first 4 weeks of class, but she was still able to join in on the fun.) She has asked me every day since if she could "go to dance class today". She is disappointed every time I reply that there is no dance class today. Instead, she's donned her leotard, tights, and ballet slippers each night and it's taken a lot of convincing each night to peel them off of her and put pj's on. It's going to be a long dance season until it ends in May for Mom & Dad!

A New Tradition

We've started a new tradition at our house. It was Pajama Day at daycare (almost two weeks ago already!). We decided it would be fun to have breakfast for dinner that night. The girls gobbled up pancakes, fruit, and hash browns without any extra convincing. And there, a new tradition was born! We will look forward to the next PJ Day at school!

The Other Guy in Emily's Life

Emily is definitely a Daddy's girl. She lights up like a Christmas tree whenever she sees Jeff. But, for some reason there is another guy that makes her glow with delight - the guy on the back of the Cheerio box: She greets him with an enthusiastic "Hi" every time she sees him, just as she does when she greets Jeff when he walks in the door at the end of the day. Lucky for Jeff, there won't be any competition the next few weeks. The box with "the guy" is now gone, and the new box has pictures of cancer survivors for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. So look out Mommy, you're the one competing for the extra love now!
