Carly's Manicure

Last night, I was reading the mail and making dinner while Carly colored on a Post It with a highlighter that she found. I had my back to her when I heard, "Mom, I am NOT washing my hands for dinner tonight." "I don't want the pink to come off!" She had "painted her nails".
(By the way, she did wash for dinner!)

Our "Day at the Beach"

Our plans to join Shane, Sheila, Molly, and Finn for a weekend at the beach in Fish Creek were disappointingly thwarted with a flu bug Jeff caught (& then lovingly passed on to me). We were able to distract a very disappointed Carly by getting her pool out. She had enough fun to put out of her mind the fact that she didn't get to play with Finn & Molly again.

Fingerprints

I guess it's no wonder why our storm door always has little fingerprints on it!

A Week (& a Half) In Review: Saturday/Sunday

The weekend was another beautiful one that allowed us to spend a lot of time outside.
Caroline found several caterpillars
Murphy found them very interesting too.
Saturday brought a visit from our friends: Shane, Sheila, Molly, & Finn.
Emily and Sheila checked out the flowers.
Molly found the dress up box, and donned the mailman costume.

Molly, Finn, and Carly had a blast!
Emily enjoyed a little extra attention too.

A big hug good-bye.

A Week (& a Half) In Review: Friday

A Week (& a Half) In Review: Wednesday

Wednesday brought the annual 4th of July parade at daycare:(Emily is in the front/left of the Bye Bye Buggy.)

A Week (& a Half) in Review: Tuesday

Unfortunately, like Carly, Emily has inherited my ears. We started the day Tuesday by getting tubes put in both ears. Emily did very well and by afternoon, she was playing like normal.
As a kid, I loved to pull the couch cushions off and make a fort or a bed. The girls found that it's just as fun to do with lawn furniture cushions.
A quick game of peek a boo is always fun.
A smile that can melt your heart...
Eventually, the whole family found it relaxing to rest on the "cushion bed."

CHEESE!

A Week (& a Half) In Review: Sunday

Okay, we've taken a lot of pictures over the past week and a half, but I've not been good about updating the blog, so here we go:
The girls wore their matching dresses to church.
Carly went to the store with Daddy and picked out a bone for Murphy.
Carly asked for the above snack: fruit snacks, lemonade, and yes, blue cheese. (She may look like a mini-me, but she's definitely Jeff's daughter when it comes to the cheese!) What a combo! She ate it all, as if it were made to go together.
